Arroyo Seco board to weigh grants for food, bikes and celebration
The August 24 meeting includes three community grant requests, a vacant board seat appointment and a Kite Hill follow-up letter.
Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council · Governing Board · Monday, August 24, 2026
The short version
1.The board meets Monday, August 24, at 7 p.m. at Ramona Hall, 4580 N. Figueroa Street.
2.Three Neighborhood Purposes Grants—council funding for community projects—are up for consideration: a Day of the Dead party, food distribution and bicycle repair support. Recommended awards total $5,200, below the $7,500 requested.
3.Members will consider appointing Michael (Tai) Kim to the vacant at-large board seat and choosing a site for the 2027 neighborhood council election.
4.A follow-up letter about Kite Hill to Councilmember Hernandez is up for a vote. The board will also discuss an LA32 Neighborhood Council letter opposing SoLa Impact’s Huntington Drive development; the agenda lists that item as discussion, not a vote.
5.The packet contains financial inconsistencies worth clarifying: recommended grants exceed the $3,000 grant budget shown in July’s spending report, and the $500 website motion names July while its attached invoice names August.
